Hello, I’m Miss Lewis, I am one of the teachers in the EYFS reception class. I aim to provide an environment for children to learn, play, grow, to feel happy and safe when they come to school and to have fun! In our base we provide lots of opportunities for children to lead their own learning through their own interests, and support children by extending and adding challenges to their play in order to encourage progress and development. I believe children learn best when they are able to use what they know to solve problems, I therefore encourage children to be as independent as they can be so that they proud of their own tasks and achievement. This also helps them be school ready for Year 1.

Creative Area
In our creative area, pupils can express themselves using paint, collage, loose parts, chalk, pastels, printing, clay, play dough and a whole range of other materials. I can’t wait to see what the children come up with!

Maths Area
This is one of our math areas. This one primarily focuses on number. Here pupils are able to develop number sense as they learn not only how to count, but the value and order of number and how to compare numbers.

Puzzle and Games Area
Did you know puzzles are a great way to develop mathematical thinking and problem solving skills? Playing games also develops mathematical skills and social and emotional intelligence as we learn to take turns, follow rules and to be happy for other when they with, and how to cope as we lose.
