Year 6s visited Bletchley Park this term as part of their history topic and learning about WW2. Whilst there, they learnt about decoding the German messages in order to win the war. A major breakthrough that took place at the park itself by a large team of carefully chosen intellects. Most of them were selected from Oxford and Cambridge universities as well as people who had fast problem-solving skills and knew the German language fluently. The children were fascinated by the enigma machine and also how the morse code worked. On return to school, they added to their non-chronological report for the War.
